Equity and Technology Documentary Blog

Posted by acsislab on August 15, 2007

Check out this new documentary on Technology Use and Access in High Schools which was produced in association with the Equity and Technology Research Alliance, and ACSIS.

Promises and Pitfalls was filmed in selected schools in Nova Scotia, Canada and the Western Cape, South Africa.  It is a documentary that shows the remarkable similarities between schools: regardless of gender, class, race or cultural background differences… young people universally enjoy working with computers and believe that they will use them in their future careers.

It runs about 34 minutes long and can be a useful tool for researchers, educators and policy officials who are interested in delving into issues of equitable access to and use of information and communication technology in our education system.
